Ursula M. Burns, Making Strides


Ursula M. Burns is the first African-American woman to lead a Fortune 500 company. She is the CEO of Xerox Corp. and the second highest placed African-American woman in last year's Fortune magazine's, 50 Most Powerful Women in Business, only second to Oprah Winfrey. Burns started at Xerox in 1980 as a mechanical engineering summer intern earning a respective degree from the Polytechnic Institute of NYU and a master's at Columbia University.
